A quiet boot with one piece of jewellery. Two gold tone buttons sit at the outer top edge of a straight, close fitting shaft in a soft napped finish, and that is the whole of the decoration. The line runs clean from the knee down to a softly rounded toe with nothing to break it, which is why these work as easily with a wool skirt as they do pulled over a slim jean.
The heel is a low block of about 1.5 inches, wide enough to stay level on an uneven pavement and low enough to forget about by the afternoon. A full length zip runs up the inside of the shaft, so getting into them takes a second and the outer face stays uninterrupted apart from the buttons. The napped surface wants a soft dry brush rather than water, and a minute of brushing lifts the pile back after wet weather.
We make them in black and brown, in UK sizes 3.5 through 10. The model wears a size 7 and they run true to size, so order the size you normally take. The brown reads warmer against camel and cream, and the black is the pair for days when the rest of the outfit should do the talking.
