This is the tall boot for a wet pavement. The knee-high shaft runs clean in a soft napped finish, then meets a chunky lug sole with a contrast welt tracing the whole edge, which is the detail that keeps the weight of the sole from reading heavy. A silver-tone buckle sits low at the ankle, breaking the shaft line just above the foot. The buckle is decorative rather than adjustable, so it never digs in.
A full-length zip runs up the inside seam, so you step in rather than hauling. The block heel is kept low, around an inch and a half, which puts the tread flat on the ground and lets you cover distance without thinking about it. The round toe keeps the front generous, and the shaft rises straight to just under the knee. Weight is where you want it on a boot like this, low and in the sole, which is what stops a tall shaft from feeling top-heavy after an hour of walking.
We make it in black, beige and coffee, in UK 3.5 through 10. It is built to be worn hard through the colder half of the year, over jeans tucked in or under a coat that stops at the same point the shaft does. Grit works its way into a lug tread, so knock the sole out at the door and brush the shaft dry.
