This is the short-shaft version of the western boot: everything that makes the shape recognisable, cut down to just above the ankle bone. Contrast embroidery is stitched across the vamp and up the sides of the upper, pull tabs sit at either side so the boot goes on in one motion, and the toe holds a clean point. There is no zip and no buckle to fasten.
The shaft opening is generous, which is what makes the pull-on entry work, and the two-inch stacked block heel gives lift without pitching your weight forward onto the toe. The embroidery is worked in a thread a few shades off the upper, so it holds the western reference at close range and settles into the shape of the boot at a distance. It is the pair to reach for with cropped denim or a midi skirt, where the break at the ankle actually shows.
Black and light brown are both offered. The black reads closer to a city boot, the light brown closer to the ranch, and the contrast stitching shows more plainly on the darker upper.
