Chunky cable and waffle texture runs through the body of this cardigan, and the sleeves are the reason to own it: a full bishop shape gathered into a deep ribbed cuff, so the volume collects at the wrist instead of hanging loose over your hands. It buttons up the front to an open V with no collar, and the buttons are spaced wide apart so the cable runs unbroken between them.
Cut oversized through body and shoulder, it falls just past the hip with enough room to wear open over a shirt or fastened as the only layer indoors. The weight of the knit makes it a workable alternative to a light jacket through the cold months, and it is the kind of thing that ends up living on the back of a chair because it gets used daily. The deep ribbed cuffs hold a pushed-up sleeve at the elbow while you cook or work.
We knit it in brown, green, white and black, in sizes S to 2XL. Wash it cold on a gentle cycle, or have it cleaned professionally to protect the cable, and dry it flat so the weight of the knit does not pull the shoulders.
