Before you fit it

Check what is behind the wall. Into masonry it takes a full load without complaint; into plasterboard you will need proper cavity fixings rated for the weight of wet laundry, which is heavier than people expect — a wet towel is roughly three times its dry weight.

Wipe the bars occasionally. In a bathroom, dry the fixings after a steamy shower to keep them clean.
