A 500W ceramic heater sized for the space right in front of you rather than the whole room. It sits on a desk, a worktop or a bedside table and pushes warm air about a metre, which is the point: heating the person costs a fraction of heating the house. For anyone working from a cold spare room or a garden office, it is the difference between putting the central heating on all afternoon and not.

The ceramic PTC element reaches temperature in a few seconds and holds it with a built-in thermostat, so it cycles rather than running flat out. The casing stays cool to the touch and the unit switches off if it is knocked over.

Running cost

This appliance is rated for 220-240V, which matches UK mains voltage, and is supplied with a European (Schuko) plug. A UK plug adapter is required and is not included in the box.
