Folding Corner Airer | 360-Degree Hinged Aluminium Drying Rack

A folding drying arm with a two-way hinge in the middle, so it bends around an internal corner or lies flat along a single wall. That one joint is what makes it useful in a small space: a corner is usually the last free wall in a utility room or on a balcony, and nothing else fits there.

The arm is built from 30 cm sections between a 6.5 cm wall plate and a 24 cm end piece, and it stands 9 cm deep when folded shut. Hanger hooks drop into notches along its length rather than sliding into a clump at one end.

What it is good for

Flats and small houses where every flat wall already has something on it. Because it fixes at the corner, the load is carried into two walls rather than one.

Before you fit it

It needs solid fixing points. Check the wall is masonry or use proper cavity fixings, and spread the load along the arm rather than hanging everything at the far end, which is where the leverage is worst.

Care

Aluminium does not rust but it does collect grime outdoors. Wipe the arm before hanging whites after a spell unused.
